How to Make a Giant Bubble Wand
Things You’ll Need:
* Floral Wires
* Shaving Cream Or Liquid Soap
* Electrical Tapes
Step 1:
Bend a wire clothes hanger into a circle; for large bubbles, the more perfect the circle, the better it works.
Step 2:
Twist the hook opposite the circle to form a handle.
Step 3:
Wrap the handle with electrical tape, taking special care to cover the wire's two sharp ends with tape.
Step 4:
Wrap the circle with cotton twine to absorb more soap mixture so you can make bigger bubbles.
Tips & Warnings
* Use floral wire to make smaller wands with interesting shapes.
* Remember that you're going to need a larger tub of bubble mix to accommodate the larger wand.
* When using large rounds to make bubbles, it's sometimes hard to make them leave the round without bursting. So here's a trick: lift the round from your tray of bubble juice, draw it smoothly to fill with air, then make a gentle chopping motion to complete the bubble sphere and permit the bubble to fly free of the round.
*plastic or Styrofoam cup bottoms, anywhere from 1 to 3 inches from the bottom. Use the large cups for bigger bubbles.

10 cups of water
1 cup dish soap
Clycerine(?)
Clycerine makes bubbles last longer.
Beakman’s Bubble Formula
Better and Lots Cheaper
WHAT YOU NEED: Liquid dishwashing soap
Glycerine (from drug store),
Gallon jug, and
Dishpan or other large flat pan, like a big cake pan.
WHAT TO DO: Add 2/3 cup of soap to a gallon of water. Add the soap last so you don’t get a jug full of suds. Add one tablespoon of glycerine, which will help your bubbles last longer. Ask the people at the drug store for it. You may want to experiment by trying things like Jell-O, Certo or even sugar instead. Molasses works well.
IMPORTANT: The soap you use has to be clear or transparent. Do not use any lotion-type soaps. Also, the more expensive brands work better for bubbles. I use Dawn or Ajax, but YOU CAN try others. Soap for a dishwashing machine won’t work.
MORE STUFF TO DO: Stir it well and let the formula sit for a while. Pour several inches of it into your pan. When using the bubble tools you’re going to make, make sure your hands are really wet with the formula. Ditto of the bubble tools. The way you think and behave is important, too. Be gentle and slow while learning to work with your tools. Then it’s O.K. to get crazy and radical. If it’s windy, come inside and work at the sink.
When you’re done making bubbles, carefully pour your bubble formula back into the jug. YOU CAN use it over and over again _________________

Make your own bubble blowing mixture!
Summer wouldn't be summer without the chance to blow bubbles! Use our bubble recipe to make up your own batch of super bubble mixture. Store it in jars or bottles overnight for an even better mixture. Bubble recipe is here.
Make bubble wands
If you don't mind getting a bit soapy, you can blow surprisingly large bubbles by looping your thumb and first finger into a bubble blowing wand!
Or loop some wire (garden wire works particularly well and is easy to loop) into home-made bubble wands. You can made huge wands out of wire coat-hangers, but adult supervision is required because the ends can be sharp.
Drinking straws make lots and lots of sweet little bubbles.
If you have any scooby-doos in the house (the plastic strings used for making key fobs - not the cartoon dog!), you can easily twist these into excellent, colorful bubble wands. With a bit of practice you can make 3 or even 4 loops from one scooby-doo string.
Raid your kitchen drawers - look carefully and there are bound to be a few kitchen implements that have holes in them!
